Car = Oven!

Posted by EPCoordinator2  Published in Cooking, Recipes, Transportation

060803_cookies_hmed_4phmediumHave no fear, in an emergency if your oven doesn’t work you can still use your CAR AS AN OVEN! I found these step-by-step instructions to bake some Chocolate Chip cookies in your car from BakingBites.com which came from an idea found on MSNBC. Sandi Fontaine from BEDFORD, N.H. says we need is the outside temperature to be 95 degrees. Sweet! Plus it also makes your car have it’s own sweet smell. No need to get those stinky air fresheners. (I have yet to smell one that I like.)

Click here for step-by-step instructions.

I bet you could also bake a few other things in the car too, but I don’t know if I’d have the patience to wait much longer than cookies.

December 2008 Newsletter

Posted by EPCoordinator2  Published in 72 Hour Kits, Activities, FHE Ideas, Kids, Transportation

We’ve got the December newsletter ready. We’re excited about this one. It’s the end of the year and we’ve made another list. An Emergency Car Kit list in the form of a Crossword Puzzle with pictures. That’s right a game! It’s our gift to you. We hope you have fun while filling it out and putting your car kit together with your families.

We had fun doing it and we know we’ll be prepared when we’re traveling to our parents’ houses for the holidays in Centerville and Eagle Mountain. We hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving & a very Merry Christmas!

Full Tank of Gas

Posted by EPCoordinator2  Published in Transportation

Consider ways to get about under varied conditions. Keeping your gas tank as full as possible is a first step.

Personal Experience: I feel bad for my Brother, he thinks he’s saving money by letting his tank run on low fuel. You’ll spend the same amount of money weather or not you wait until you run out or if you fill up at every half mark. If he ever had to go somewhere in an Emergency and there was no gas, he would probably get as far as 10 miles. Hopefully he’ll learn without a bad experience.

Have a good pair of shoes for walking. Have other means such as bicycles, wagons, ATV’s, and/or horses.
