Lentils w/ rice
(Someone from the PG 3rd Ward prepared this for anyone to taste during the 2008 Stake Emergency Preparedness Fair in Pleasant Grove, UT)
Ingredients:
1 lb. of lentils (soak ½ hr. in hot water)
1 large onion chopped
5 cloves of garlic chopped or ¾ tbsp garlic powder
1 tomato sauce
2 quarts of water or 8 ½ cups of water
Pinch of Spices to taste (oregano, bay leaves, salt)
Add: 1 lb of cubed Chicken or Sausage
Preparation:
Fry onion, garlic, chicken or sausage, when the onions have browned, add drained lentils, then add water and spices, boil for about 30 min.
Serve w/ rice.
Cook Time: 30 Min.
